Today is the birthday of Bobby Wadkins born in 1951 in Richmond, Virginia.
He is the younger brother of Lanny, and for 6 years, the Wadkins boys won the Richmond City Junior Championship.
He turned pro in 1973 after a year at University of Houston and then attended East Tennessee State in Johnson City. The Buccaneers.
Wadkins never won on the PGA Tour in 715 events, but he has 4 wins on the Champions Tour, including a Major, the 2006 Senior Players Championship at TPC Michigan in Dearborn.
Wadkins and Mark Weibe share the distinction of being the youngest winners on the Champions Tour at 50 and 10 days.
